WILLIAM L. ALLEN
Bill was raised in Auburndale, Florida and graduated from Auburndale High School in 1991. He received is undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida (B.A. Cum Laude 1995). Following undergraduate studies, Bill obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Memphis (J.D. Magna Cum Laude 1998) where he received the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence in Criminal Law as well as Civil Procedure. Additionally, Bill received the Corpus Juris Secundum Award for Scholastic Excellence in Civil Procedure and Criminal Law from West Publishing Corporation.
Bill was admitted to the Florida Bar and initially served as an Assistant Public Defender handling a variety of criminal litigation cases. In 2000, Bill left the public Defender’s Office and entered private practice establishing the firm of the Law Offices of Allen and Abaray, P.A. His practice focuses on defending individuals charged with criminal matters ranging from traffic offenses such as D.U.I. to drug offenses and murder. Bill prides himself taking aggressive strategies in his defense of his clients. Bill is currently a member of the Florida Bar Ethics Committee for the Tenth Judicial Circuit, the Lakeland Bar Association, and the Polk County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
